This orange wine is a rustic expression of Cortese from 50-year-old vines, bold and full of flavour. You'll find a briney, sage & fennel savoury element, brightened by blood-orange citrus and wet stone minerality. Rare combo of a drinker AND a thinker.

Grapes: Cortese

Place: Piedmont, Italy

ABV: 13.5%

Colour: Orange

Vintage: 2019

Francesco and Pauline are young vignerons from Nizza Monferrato who have finally made their dream come true and created a place where they can grow their own grapes: in the heart of the UNESCO heritage site of Piedmont region. They farm Barbera, Moscato, Cortese and Chardonnay following a holistic approach for a low impact on the ecosystem.

Their vines vary from 10-70 years old, exposure is mostly south to south west. They are tufa (limestone) throughout, with some clay and chalk (limestone again) mixed in.

They are inspired by the local winemaking traditions but also like to experiment maceration and fermentation in different unique ways.
