Celler Tomàs Torres, Veles e Vents
Aromatic and herbaceous, with nice body, but still refreshing.
Place: Valencia, Spain
Celler Tomas Torres is in the village of Carricola, in the hills about an hour south of Valencia. Vicent has been making natural wines in these hills for over twenty years. He makes them without fuss, primarily for a local market, or as he put it, for people who care about their health. The wines are vibrant and generally bottled within the year although he makes a few wines that are barrel aged. The whites are made from local varieties; Tortosi, Tardana and Macabeu. The reds from Tempranillo, known locally as Hare's eye or ull de llebre and little parcels of Cabernet , Merlot and Syrah.
