We’re just about into the second quarter of 2023, we’re now in Spring, despite the Manchester weather refusing to reflect this, and we’ve already done so much this year already.
We thought it would be nice to take a quick look back at our first quarter of 2023, as we continue to celebrate the wonderful creative juices that flow through Manchester!
KERB’s First Quarter: Wine, Art, Food, Music, Fashion, Love & Friends
Kicking off the year with our first exhibition, we had Screen Time by Morys Davies – one of our own! You may know Morys from our bar, but for Screen Time Morys transformed KERB’s space to display his art, a concept he cooked up for over two years, using a collection of smashed iPhones in genius ways, a great start to the year!
After Screen time, we had something quite different in KERB, food! Usually, we just have bar snacks, but for our KERB x Our Place Supper Club collab, we teamed with Our Place to serve natural wine alongside seasonal and sustainable food. All for a good cause, as Our Place dedicates their work to helping the homeless.
We followed our foodie event with a music event, because we love keeping our guests guessing what’s next! Daniel Aagentah presented New World, an audiovisual experience. Combining coded graphics with live mixing, Daniel wowed everyone as we all watched and listened to his impressively unique show.
Art, food, music and now… fashion! Äkta Norr debuted their SS/23 collection in our bar. A contemporary menswear company with true Northern resilience in their DNA, the Äkta Norr gang showed off their new collection with us before launching it live online.
And finally, we hosted Equal Parts with Maria. This art exhibition was actually made for a podcast by Maria. A unique podcast which explores how couples meet each other had commissioned portraits of all of the featured couples, a lovely way to celebrate love and relationships, along with natural wine of course.
We also poured wine for the Broadside rooftop party, a local apartment block, and our manager flew to Poland for a few days to learn more about the Polish wine culture. We’ve been busy, and plan to keep 2023 going the same way.
What’s Next For Us in 2023?
We have plenty in store for the rest of the year, mostly drinking wine in the sun. Next week we are excited to team up with Lily’s Deli, our next door neighbour who sells delicious Indian Food. We also have more fashion and art exhibitions on the horizon, so please stick to our Instagram for all our announcements.
Our website has all of our stock available for delivery, so you can get the best natural wine delivered to your doorstep. We’ve loved 2023 so far, and can’t wait to keep things going as the weather gets better! We hope to see you in our bar for our future exhibitions, Thursday tastings or just coming in for a cheeky glass or two.
